Jerry Madden is a highly experienced and accomplished federal trial and appellate lawyer practicing in Washington, D.C.  He is one of the very few attorneys who has presented oral arguments in all thirteen federal circuit courts of appeals and has been lead agency counsel in suits before the U.S. Supreme Court.  Jerry has been counsel of record in well over 150 appeals in the federal circuit courts of appeals and has been lead trial counsel at the Department of Justice in high-stakes or high-profile cases involving hundreds of millions of dollars.  He has an extensive background in commercial litigation and financial institution regulation and is highly experienced in (i) administrative and constitutional lawsuits involving the Federal Government, (ii) tort and contract suits in which the United States is the defendant, and (iii) white-collar criminal appeals.

Charles Rowan

Charlie Rowan (Of Counsel) has over twenty-five years of experience as a business litigation and dispute resolution professional with decades of experience as Assistant General Counsel of Unisys Corporation, a global information technology company.  In that role, Charlie was responsible for the litigation and resolution of numerous multimillion-dollar disputes spanning a wide range of subjects. He was responsible for the handling and resolution of major cases in the United States, Europe and Australia. At Unisys, Charlie developed an exceptional understanding of the challenges facing businesses litigating and resolving complex, high-stakes disputes, and was an innovator in selecting, retaining and collaborating with outside counsel.

Charlie has litigated and resolved major disputes involving:

  • Massive system-integration projects in both the public and private sectors, in Germany, England, Belgium and the United States
  • A major banking-technology joint venture in England
  • Environmental (“toxic”) tort allegations, cleanups, cost-allocation and related insurance coverage
  • Insurance coverage under comprehensive general liability, professional liability, and director & officer policies
  • Indemnification claims arising out of business divestitures
  • Federal whistleblower (Qui Tam) fraud claims
  • Major construction projects involving public-transportation systems and private civil-engineering projects

Charlie began his legal career as law clerk to Howard F. Corcoran, United States District Judge for the District of Columbia. Following his clerkship, Charlie began practicing law at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft in Washington, D.C., where he gained first-chair federal courtroom experience at the trial and appellate levels.
